The Tokyo International Projection Mapping Award Executive Committee is excited to announce the launch of Volume 10 of its spatial video creation contest, the Tokyo International Projection Mapping Award, aimed at young creators. Entries are officially open starting today!
Marking its 10th anniversary, this year’s award introduces a significant change to encourage wider participation. We’ve eliminated the initial planning document review and shifted directly to selecting works based on the final submissions. This change allows for a longer entry period, with the Web Entry Deadline set for September 23 (Tuesday) at 2:00 PM. Final works and all required documents must be submitted together by October 21 (Tuesday) at 2:00 PM.
Submitted works and documents will undergo a screening process, with selected works announced on October 31 (Friday). The final judging and award presentations will take place at the screening event at Tokyo Big Sight on November 15 (Saturday) from 5:00 PM.
This year’s theme is “Voyage.” We encourage you to interpret “voyage” in diverse ways—be it a journey, a voyage across the seas, or life itself. Create works with innovative ideas, utilizing the 3D optical illusions unique to projection mapping and the surprising expressions possible with spatial video, pushing boundaries like never before.
We eagerly await your many applications!
